Venice relaunches Murano glass: The Venice Glass Week

Since 2017, The Venice Glass Week has taken place every September in Venice and Murano, celebrating one of the most important artistic traditions of the Venetian Lagoon.

The Venice Glass Week is an international festival dedicated to celebrating, supporting and promoting the art of glassmaking, the artistic and economic activity for which Venice and the island of Murano have been renowned around the world for more than 1,000 years.

In 2026, The Venice Glass Week celebrates its tenth anniversary, with the tenth edition taking place from 12th to 20th September 2026 across Venice, Murano and Mestre.

The festival is promoted by the Comune di Venezia and organised by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO – Fondazione Giorgio Cini and Pentagram Stiftung, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.

Over the years, The Venice Glass Week has become one of the most important international events dedicated to artistic glass, bringing together glass masters, artists, designers, collectors, galleries, museums, furnaces and institutions from Italy and around the world.

For its tenth anniversary, the 2026 programme features more than 200 events, including exhibitions, installations, talks, guided tours, workshops, demonstrations and special initiatives held throughout Venice, Murano and Mestre.

The festival offers visitors a unique opportunity to enter glass furnaces and ateliers, discover contemporary and traditional glassmaking techniques, meet artists and master glassmakers, visit exhibitions and museums, and experience the extraordinary world of Murano glass directly in the place where this centuries-old art was born and continues to evolve.

With The Venice Glass Week, Venice celebrates and promotes the extraordinary heritage of Murano glass, bringing together tradition, craftsmanship, design and contemporary creativity.
