It could be defined as controlled incamiciato (a glass consisting of two or more superimposed layers of coloured and transparent glass).

Mr Balbi uses different glasses and their different viscosity to create the visual - but also tactile - effects you would obtain with the incalmo technique (distant parts joined together after heating them) but not using the traditional procedure.

The objects created with this technique have the peculiarity to change colour depending on the light that hits them. This is the result of the stratification of layers of different coloured glasses.

The incredible results demonstrate Balbi's great skills.
