Primavera

This term indicates a type of glass invented as a result of experiments carried out by Ercole Barovier in 1929.
It is a transparent glass containing irregular off-white filaments reminiscent of a spider web.

Its formulation is not known and its appearance is the result of mere chance. In fact, after the first two series, in spite of the huge success it met with critics and with the public alike, it was not produced again.

The Vetreria Artistica Barovier firm produced a limited number of vases, figures, chandeliers and flower-stands, finishing them with profiles of black, violet and, more rarely, blue vitreous paste.
