Henry Spencer Moore

Born on the 30th of July 1898 in the small coalmining - town of Castleford (Yorkshire - Uk), he died in Much Hadham (Hertfordshire, Uk) in 1986.
He studied at the school of Art in Leeds and at the Royal College in London.
In 1937 he became a member of the English Surrealist group. In 1938 he took part in the International Exhibition of Abstract Art at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
In his mature years his sculpture synthetised form and space.
He participated in 1953.
Was awarded the International Sculpture Prizes at the 24th Venice Biennale in 1948, and participated in 1953 in the first exhibition organised by Fucina Degli Angeli: he kept working with them over the next years.
