Massimo Nordio

Born in Venice in 1947.
He trained as a cinematographer and photographer, he is a long-time collector of 20th century Venetian glass.


In 1980 he wrote a series of monographs on the major modern Murano glass artists, such as Carlo Scarpa , Napoleone Martinuzzi , Ercole Barovier , Fulvio Bianconi .
Also in that period, he began to design his own works.
In the early nineties he devoted himself completely to glass research and design.
Nordio recently collaborated in seminars at Pilchuck, Niijima, and the Murano Glass Studio Center.
In 1996 he assisted Roger Selden in the creation of the glass panels at the synagogue in Milan.
In the years 1998, 2000, 2006, 2010 his works were included in the selection of the Corning Museum of Glass.
Among his many solo and group exhibitions in important international galleries, he has held solo shows such as "Aventurine" at the Correr Museum in Venice, Italy, and "Zodiac" at the Furukawa Art Museum in Nagoya, Japan.
His work was the subject of a book by Attilia Dorigato , published by Arsenale Editrice.
