Born in 1921, he died in 2002. From 1937 to 1939 he attended the specialised School of Glassmaking at Novy Bor, where he later became instructor and then director, position held until 1963. From 1954 to 1963 he was Director of the School of Glassmaking in Zelezny Brod, where he met his wife Jaroslava Brychtova, and together thei invented the pressed glass technique. The "Head bowl", done in 1955 - 56 is very famous. The C.V.M. firm imported and sold his works.
