The falcon head Egyptian canopic jar was reserved to host mummified intestines. I had to have complex surgery which resulted in having my large intestines removed, so if I was to be mummified, that jar would be empty! The cause of this was Ulcerative Colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease. I want to bring awareness of the condition through this piece, intertwined with the theme of the relationships and emotions linked with this condition..
