Galliano Ferro opened the "Vetreria Artistica Galliano Ferro", his own glass factory, in 1955 after leaving Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.Ve.M) which he co-founded in 1932.
Designers at Galliano Ferro include his son Giorgio Ferro, Ezio Rizzetto, Fulvio Bianconi and Vinicio Vianello.
Giorgio Ferro took over as the head of the company in 1972. Since then, Galliano Ferro glassworks has specialized in producing traditional Muranese chandeliers. Currently, the atelier is managed by Lisa Ferro and Paola Ferro.
In recent years, Galliano Ferro glassworks has also engaged in the restoration of antique chandeliers and has been involved in the restoration projects of significant Venetian palaces. Notable among these are the Murano Glass Museum, The Gritti Palace Hotel, Aman Resort, Canal Grande, Palazzo Papadopoli, Hotel Londra Palace, and the Venetian Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts. Additionally, the company has restored chandeliers both in Italy and abroad, including at the Military Academy of Modena, the Basilica of Santa Maria dell’Elemosina in Biancavilla (CT), and Castletown House in Celbridge, Dublin, Ireland.
We can safely say that this glassworks has represented and still represents excellence in Murano chandelier production.
