(riveted edge): by means of a riveted edge we mean the edge of a plate or a vase, but also the foot of a glass, which instead of ending up straight, is folded back on itself.
In the open plates by hand it is used to make the outer flap more solid, and sometimes, before bending it, it is decorated with colored thread.
The technique was already known in Roman times and is one of the most significant variants derived from the discovery of blown glass.
