No worries about duties: your orders from the U.S. are safe

Over the past few days, there have been reports about possible changes in customs policies between Europe and the United States. We completely understand that this may have caused some uncertainty, especially for those of you who regularly purchase from abroad.

We want to reassure you: there are currently no changes in customs duties affecting our Murano glass products shipped from Italy to the United States. All orders continue to be processed as usual, with fast, trackable shipping—and no surprises.

Additionally, we’d like to remind you that, under current U.S. customs regulations, orders valued under $800 USD are exempt from import duties and taxes. The vast majority of purchases on MuranoNet fall within this threshold and therefore arrive at their destination at no additional cost.

For orders over $800 USD, customs duties or local taxes may apply, depending on the type of product and the regulations of your state. That said, these charges are typically modest and infrequent for artistic glass items, which often benefit from reduced or even exempt tariffs. In general, tariffs for glass products can range from 1.2% up to around 10% of the declared value—but many of our items fall into low or duty-free categories.

We also want you to know that, upon request, we can declare eligible pieces as “work of art” for customs purposes. This option is available only for unique or limited-edition items valued over $1,000 USD, and may help qualify the piece for further tariff exemptions, depending on U.S. customs classification.
