Born in 1945, he graduated from Berkeley University and in 1969 he was awarded a scolarship.
He then moved to Murano and worked there at first at Salviati & Co. , where he executed items decorated with murrine.

He used traditional techniques such as murrine , zanfirico and reticello .
He is currently considered one of the most important american artist.
