Renato Anatrà

Born in 1943. Co-founder of Arte80 with Andrea Tagliapietra, Renato Anatrà was one of Murano's most prolific glass sculptors until his retiring in the early 2000s. His artworks, primarily consisting of sculptures made from clear glass, stand as incredible masterpieces designed for public exhibition. Anatrà was a pivotal figure in contemporary Murano glass sculpture.

His creations have been displayed in museums globally, such as the “Guitar in polychrome glass” crafted in Murano in 1960, which was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He died in 2020, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and captivate art enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Thank you for your comments and inquiries:
This blog is simply informational; we do not do appraisals and valuations of antiques. However, to purchase important pieces there are two ways:
    1. become an expert (years of study and possible shenanigans)
    2. rely on qualified dealers who may have sufficient credit.
