Millefiori

Literally a thousand flowers.
This is used to describe small mosaic sections of glass made by fusing and marbling together regular arrangements of coloured canna , then pulling out the resulting thick form to produce a length of multicoloured canne.
This is cut and chopped into small pieces.
These are used mostly for picking up onto a gather of molten glass pea from the bronzino for inclusion into paperweights or for blown vases.
