Pea -Pela

It is the incandescent ball of molten glass taken from the oven with the metal cane, in order to be shaped and blown by the maestro.

Pea is the first embryo of the object being formed. It derives from the first levada or ball, which, subjected to marmorizzada, initial blowing, second levada, further blowing and magiossada, becomes a glassy bolus already hewed and insufflated, ready to be delivered the master for finishing.

It probably derives from pera (pear) and indicates the molten glass bolus, attached to the morso of the canna da soffio , in the first part of the process, that is, when the first blown glass bubble is formed from which we start with the specific processes.
