From 5 to 8 September 2019, in conjunction with the Venice Art Biennale and the Film Festival, a selection of important ancient and contemporary works.

Conceived by Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, multifaceted art collectors, Nomad Venice will bring to Venice for 4 days, from 5 to 8 September, a selection of ancient and contemporary works of art. After the successful debut in April 2017 in Montecarlo, and subsequently in St. Moritz, Nomad lands in the lagoon city with a program of conferences addressed to designers and artists, guided visits to private homes, collections or monuments . Access to the event will be possible through accreditation on the Nomad website and by invitation.

Nomad will bring together a selection of the most important galleries in the world in an incredible architecture such as that of the ancient Venetian palace Soranzo van Axel, a Gothic palace built in 1473 on the southernmost tip of the Cannaregio district in Venice. With 3,500 square meters on four floors, the building can be considered one of the most significant examples of Venetian Gothic. Its structure dates back to the fifteenth century when Marco Nicolò Soranzo, prosecutor of San Marco, bought the property.

The palace then passed to the Venier and Sanudo and finally in 1652 to the Van Axels, rich Flemish textile merchants from Axel near Gent who were admitted to the Venetian patriciate in 1665. Closed to the public until 2017, the palace was reopened after many years of restoration with particular attention to its historical integrity. Nomad Venice 2019 takes place in collaboration with Venice Glass Week to promote the craftsmanship of Murano, an important Venetian reality known and appreciated throughout the world.
