The Venice Glass Week

Venice relaunches Murano glass.

From 2017 The Venice Glass Week festival takes place in September in Venice and in Murano.

The Venice Glass Week is an international festival dedicated to celebrating, supporting and promoting the art of glassmaking – the artistic and economic activity for which the Lagoon City has been renowned around the world for over 1,000 years.

The fourth edition will take place from 5th to 13th September 2020.

The festival is promoted by the Town Council of Venice, and conceived and organised by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO – Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.

With the Venice Glass Week event, Venice relaunches Murano glass, its heritage and its art with more than 140 events scattered among Venice and Murano. Cocktails, guided tours, theme dinners, workshops, parties, and museums, galleries, glass furnaces, designer ateliers, shops united and opened to promote the art of Murano glass.
